Meet the team: Interview with Juan Manuel Aguirre
Today we are very pleased to introduce you to Juan Manuel Aguirre , our new Software Engineer in the Tech Team! He likes listening to music also also playing it. Continue reading to find out more about Juanma!
Your name? (the real one! :) )
Juan Manuel Aguirre Gaviria. Yes, you read that right, doesn't my last name sound familiar? Hahaha.
Favorite movie?
My favorite movies are all of the John Wick films. I find them very entertaining.
Do you play music?
You could say that today I am the only Orvium member who actively plays an instrument, what an honor! I usually play the guitar but now I have also embarked on a new adventure and I am taking piano and bass lessons.
Last book you read?
The last one was "LA MUERTE NEGRA: EL TRIUNFO DE LOS NO-MUERTOS". I highly recommend it if you are interested in the zombie world. 🧟♂️
Do you have any hobbies or favorite sports? (curling is not allowed)
I do not practice any sport but my hobbies are music, video games and anime/manga.
Tell us a bit more about yourself, how did you get into software development?
I started in the world of programming doing a course of HTML and CSS in 2019, so I was gradually getting into this profession.
What do you love about your profession?
I like the fact that it forces me to reinvent myself to find solutions to the different problems that arise when programming, because when I manage to solve these little problems there is a feeling of satisfaction and success.
What is your philosophy behind software engineering?
My philosophy is that there are many ways to approach the same problem and arrive at a good solution.
What brought you to Orvium? What do you like about the product?
Basically what brought me to Orvium was that they use some technologies that I had studied, and I was interested in putting the knowledge I had acquired into practice.
Any funny/interesting stories that you can share from your time in Orvium?
In the early days I knew nothing about Angular, and at that time Rober wrote me to sign me up for an intermediate Angular course that they themselves taught. Clearly I was lost but I still tried to follow the thread of the class, anyway, I think it was a good opportunity to learn quickly and effectively and what better way than from Antonio's and Gaizka's hand!
Thank you very much for your answers Juanma!
We love to have you onboard and hope you enjoy your time with us at least as much as we do.
With this post now you know a bit more about our team. We hope you enjoyed it and remember to check our previous "Meet the Team: Interview with María Risquez" from the Tech Team.
