Meet the team: Interview with Sofía González
Today we are pleased to introduce you to Sofía González, our new marketing member who will be part of the Marketing Department. Sofía loves the beach and eating sushi, plays guitar a little, and she is also a fashion designer! My name is Sofía Valeria González.
Favorite movie?
The notebook. I love romantic and comedy movies.
Do you play music?
I kinda know how to play the guitar, but I haven't practiced in a while. I do love listening to music, I can't stand the silence and I think my workmates have noticed that.
Last book you read?
Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen. I’m a fan of love novels, it transports me to different scenarios.
Do you have any hobbies or favorite sports? (curling is not allowed)
As hobbies, I love redesigning old clothes of mine, or just doing new sewing projects. My favorite sports are Crossfit and tennis.
Tell us a bit more about yourself, how did you get into marketing?
I am a fashion designer, and when I was studying, one of my signatures was marketing. There was when I discovered that after I finished my career the next step would be studying marketing. So I am currently doing a Digital Marketing Master's.
What do you love about your profession?
About fashion design, I love being able to transform inspiration and emotions into designs that later will dress someone. And about marketing, I like how creative you can and must be, the constant changes in the area force you to grow and learn new things every day.
What is your philosophy behind marketing and advertisement?
I think my philosophy is for everything in life. Never stop learning, always do what you love and feel right. In marketing specific, be constantly improving yourself and be aware of the changes the world presents to you.
What brought you to Orvium? What do you like about the product?
I got into a program that provides help to young professionals. One day, a vacancy in Orvium was offered, a company based in my own hometown and I searched for Orvium to know more about the company. After that, I got an interview with Roberto and I was ready to join the team.
I like what Orvium offers to all the people out there that want and need a platform to publish papers, manage conferences and have a community. It helps a lot in the scientific community so I think it is a great idea and I'm happy to be part of it.
Anything else you would like to share with us?
Alright, here are some things about me. I’m from Argentina, I moved to Spain a year ago. And two things that make me completely happy are going to the beach and eating sushi. And well, there is always room for dessert.
