Meet the team: Interview with Ramón
Welcome back to our company blog, where we love to shine the spotlight on the talented individuals who make Orvium the innovative powerhouse it is. Today, we're thrilled to introduce you to Ramón García Tomás – not to be confused with the TV show host! Ramón is a music enthusiast, a cycling aficionado, and a whiz at software development. Prepare to be inspired by his unique blend of artistic flair and technical prowess!
Your name? (the real one! :)
My real name is Ramón García Tomás (and no... I’m not the famous Ramón García of "Grand Prix" TV Show XD)
Favourite movie?
If i have to say one, Mystic River. But i have a lot of favorites movies.
Do you play music?
Yeah! I studied saxophone for 7 years, but I don't play it much right now. I also studied piano for 2 years as an elective subject when I was studying saxophone (I don't know how to play piano well) and I am learning guitar on my own. So music is an important part of my life.
Last book you read?
The last book i read is “Death in Venice” by Thomas Mann
Do you have any hobbies or favorite sports?
(curling is not allowed)
My favorite hobby and sport since I was a child is cycling. I have practiced it since I was in school and it has always been part of my life. At first professionally, now just as a hobby.
Tell us a bit more about yourself, how did you get into software development?
I was always interested in the field of computing, which is why I started studying Computer Science at the University of Granada. There I learned how to code and how software works.
What do you love about your profession?
The way we work to develop tools that can make people's lives easier.
What is your philosophy behind software engineering?
Try not to despair when you get stuck and as my first programming teacher said: “Divide and conquer”.
What brought you to Orvium? What do you like about the product?
A friend told me very good things about Orvium and I researched the technologies they use there and I saw that this is the best place to develop yourself with the help of very good professionals.
Any funny/interesting stories that you can share from your time in Orvium?
Cause i’m working remotely I don’t have too much stories to tell right now ☹️
