Today we are pleased to introduce you to Leyre Martínez, our new marketing member who will be part of the Marketing Department. Leyre is a fan of The Lord of the Rings and loves playing with her cats. Continue reading to find out more about Leyre!
Your name? (the real one! :)
Leyre Martínez Ruiz and yes, Leyre with Y.
I don’t have a specific one, there are too many films I love! But if I have to choose one, it will be The Lord of the Rings, the three of them. Maybe my favorite it’s the third one, The Return of the King.
Do you play music?
Singing at home counts? I don’t play any musical instrument but I enjoy listening to music.
Last book you read?
I used to read more before. Now I have less time, but I try to read whenever I can. These days I’m reading Geralt of Rivia saga books.
Do you have any hobbies or favorite sports? (curling is not allowed)
I enjoy spending my free time with my family and friends, watching series, drawing or playing with my cats: Geralt and Shani.
Tell us a bit more about yourself, how did you get into marketing and advertising?
First, I studied psychology. When I finished my career, I realized that it’s hard to find a job related to my studies, so I started looking for an alternative and luckily I found a position in a toy shop. Working there, I got very interested in the marketing sector and the commercial field. Last year, because of the COVID pandemic, I decided to start my degree in marketing and advertising. I think now it’s the best moment to do it and turn the actual situation into an opportunity.
What do you love about your profession?
I think marketing and psychology have many things in common and, with both disciplines united, it’s possible to create and innovate in the marketing area. This is what I love about my profession, the opportunity to make things differently, innovating and giving the chance to other people to discover products that maybe they didn't know before.
What is your philosophy behind marketing and advertisement?
Attention to details. Marketing, most of the time, is about paying attention to details and doing things well step by step, with patience.
What brought you to Orvium? What do you like about the product?
I’m now studying marketing and advertising and I had the opportunity to start an internship with Orvium. The institute told me there was a company called Orvium interested on growing their marketing department. Roberto called me and told me what was Orvium about and I thought it was a really different and innovative company with a great idea and many possibilities.
Any funny/interesting stories that you can share from your time in Orvium?
This is my first week in Orvium, so I didn’t have enough time to tell any funny story. Well, the first day I rebranded my workmate Ander… definitely I’m not good with names. Sorry Andrés! :P
Thank you very much for your honest answers Leyre!
We love to have you on board and hope you enjoy your time with us at least as much as we do.
