Looking for seasoned engineers who want to make a difference in the Academic Publishing industry

“Individual commitment to a group effort — that’s what makes a team work, a company work, a society work, a civilization work” — Vince Lombardi

Looking for talent…

Building great things is a team effort, and at Orvium we are thrilled to have such a fantastic team behind our project. Also, we are very thankful to our community members who supported us since the beginning, and without whom our project wouldn’t have grown as much and as fast as it did. And because we are growing, we need you guys to help us out. Yes, that’s right, we are looking for new members to join our team!

But first, let us properly introduce ourselves.

Orvium as a startup

We are a fast-growing startup who is set on disrupting the Academic Publishing sector by using cutting-edge technologies. Our mission is to create the first open source and decentralized framework for managing scholarly publications’ life cycles and the associated data.

Why are we so keen to change the scholarly publishing industry? Because science represents the most effective mechanism we, as humans, have ever designed to promote new economic activity and nurture new, groundbreaking sectors, which, in turn, can make the world a better place. You may call us idealists, but we think science has always been the enabler of innovation, and will always be intrinsically linked to the progress of our society.

Contrary to what many people think, the scientific publishing industry is a robust business sector. If you’re curious to see just how big this industry is, check out our guest article — Academic Publishing is Big Business, And How Blockchain Can Make A Difference.

Who are we looking for

Call to action: join us!

We are currently looking for talented and passionate people with the ability to adapt to a rapidly changing environment. We like individuals who think outside the box, who are able to learn and take ownership of domain knowledge, maintain a strong critic attitude, are good team players and love to be challenged.

As part of our team, you will be required to deeply understand the state of art of Scientific Dissemination, how the peer-review process works, how the impact-factor for a scientific journal is measured, what are the challenges researchers face when they publish their work in one journal or the other, etc. At the same time, you will also interact with blockchain technologies like Ethereum and Smart Contracts.

If you think you’ve got what it takes to join our team, check out our open positions.

Don’t see the position you’re looking for? Send us your resume at recruitment@orvium.io, and we’ll get back to you ASAP!
